SatrixNOW Passkeys: Frequently Asked Questions

Basic

What is a Passkey?

A passkey is a new, easier way to sign in — no password needed. It uses your biometrics (fingerprint or face recognition), or your device PIN to confirm it’s really you. Think of it like your device becoming the key to your SatrixNOW account.

Why are we Introducing Passkeys?

Passkeys make login simpler and more secure. They help prevent common threats like phishing or stolen passwords, and they’re already being used by trusted companies like Apple, Google, and PayPal. With a passkey, your SatrixNOW login is faster and your account is more secure.

How are Passkeys Safer than Passwords?

Passkeys follow modern security standards endorsed by the FIDO Alliance and international organisations like NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).

They’re designed to resist phishing and data breaches. Passkeys stored on your device can’t be stolen in a data breach or guessed by hackers. You unlock them using something only you have, like your fingerprint or your device PIN. They’re also phishing-resistant so they won’t work on fake websites.

Can I Keep Using my Password?

Yes. Passkeys are optional. You can continue using your password to log in if that’s what works best for you. Over time, you might find passkeys more convenient — but the choice is yours.

SETUP & USE

How do I Set Up a Passkey on SatrixNOW?

Log into your account, go to Account Settings, then Security, and select Add a Passkey.

Your device will prompt you to confirm with your fingerprint, face, or device PIN.

Once approved, your passkey is saved — and you’re ready to log in with just a tap next time.
You can set up a passkey using the SatrixNOW mobile app or desktop site, depending on your device. Most users find it fastest to start on their phone using Face ID, Touch ID, or screen lock.

Once you’ve added your first passkey, you can add more via the app or desktop.

What Devices and Operating Systems are Compatible?

Nearly all modern smartphones, tablets, and computers support passkeys — including iPhones (iOS 16+), Android devices (Android 9+), and Windows PCs (Windows 10+). You just need an up-to-date browser like Chrome, Safari, Edge, or Firefox. Want to check if your device supports passkeys?

Do All Devices and Browsers Support Passkeys?

No, not all devices and browsers are compatible with passkeys.

  • Passkeys won’t work if your device is outdated or your browser isn’t up to date.

  • Some third-party embedded browsers (like in-app email clients) may not support passkey login. Use your regular browser (Chrome, Safari, etc.) if that happens.

  • If you’re logging in from a shared or public computer, you may prefer using your password for now.

Do I Need to Set Up a Passkey on Each Device?

Yes. Each device stores its own passkey. You can register multiple devices for your account — like your phone, tablet, and laptop. That way, you can log in easily from anywhere.

Where is my Passkey Stored?

Your passkey is saved securely on your device — never on SatrixNOW’s servers. Your fingerprint or face data never leaves your device. SatrixNOW only receives a secure confirmation that you’ve unlocked your device — not the biometric itself. On Apple devices, it’s stored in the iCloud Keychain. On Android, it’s in your Google Password Manager. On Windows, it’s managed by Windows Hello.

SatrixNOW does not store your biometric data. Your fingerprint or face data never leaves your device. SatrixNOW only receives a secure confirmation that you’ve unlocked your device — not the biometric itself.

Can I Use a Passkey from my Phone to Sign in on my Computer?

Yes. If your computer doesn’t have a passkey, you can scan a QR code with your phone and use your fingerprint or face there. It’s fast, secure, and doesn’t require typing anything.

Can I Use Passkeys on Multiple or Different Types of Devices?

Yes. Passkeys can be created on each of your devices, and they can work across platforms:

  • If you use only Apple devices (e.g. iPhone and Mac), your passkeys sync automatically via iCloud Keychain.

  • On Android and Chrome, passkeys sync via Google Password Manager.

  • If you use both Apple and non-Apple devices (e.g., a Windows PC and an iPhone), you can create multiple passkeys – one on each device.

  • You can also use a cross-platform password manager that supports passkeys.

Tip: You’ll see each passkey listed in your SatrixNOW account under Security Settings, and you can remove any of them at any time.

TROUBLESHOOTING & SUPPORT

I Don’t See the Option to Set Up a Passkey.

Make sure your device and browser are up to date. If you still don’t see the option, you can keep using your password — or reach out to our support team for help getting started.

I Lost my Device – What do I do?

Don’t worry. You can still log in with your password and remove that device’s passkey from your account settings. Then you can set up a new passkey on your replacement device.

My Fingerprint or Face ID isn’t Working.

Most devices will let you use your PIN or screen lock instead. You don’t have to use biometrics if you don’t want to — passkeys work with whatever you use to unlock your device.

I’m Uncomfortable with Biometrics – are There Other Options?

Yes. You can use your device PIN or password instead of a fingerprint or face scan. And if you prefer not to use passkeys at all, your SatrixNOW password will still work just fine.
