Security
Why Do You Need My Bank Account Details Upon SatrixNOW Registration?
Your bank details are required during registration to facilitate seamless withdrawals from your SatrixNOW account in the future. This upfront verification ensures quick and hassle-free transactions without delays. Rest assured, we prioritise the strict confidentiality of your bank details and adhere to the highest compliance standards set by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) to ensure the safety of your information.
How are My SatrixNOW Assets Protected?
Satrix, in collaboration with EasyEquities, ensures robust asset protection. Your securities holdings and cash are segregated by First World Trader (FWT), keeping them separate from the company's assets. Furthermore, EasyEquities holds all client assets in First World Trader Nominees (Proprietary) Limited, approved by the FSCA, safeguarding your ownership of securities.
What is an Authenticator App?
An authenticator app is a mobile application used for additional verification as part of the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) process. As an enhanced account security measure, it generates unique codes that you enter on the SatrixNOW login page.
Common authenticator apps include '2FA Authenticator', 'Google Authenticator', and 'Microsoft Authenticator'. SatrixNOW supports various authenticator apps.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and How Do I Activate It?
2FA adds an additional layer of security to your account beyond the username and password. SatrixNOW facilitates 2FA through third-party authenticator apps such as 2FA Authenticator, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator.
Activate 2FA by accessing the profile menu, selecting 'Two-Factor Authentication', and managing your devices. You can modify these settings anytime to enhance your account security.
How Can I Remove Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
To unlink your account from the authenticator app, go to 'Two-Factor Authentication' and then 'Manage Two-Factor Devices'. Click the red cross next to 'Authenticator App', enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, and 2FA will be removed from your account.
Why is Activating Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Important?
Activating 2FA adds an extra layer of security to your SatrixNOW account, enhancing its protection against unauthorised access.
Fraud Prevention
How Do I Report Suspected Fraud on My SatrixNOW Account?
You can report suspected fraud by emailing reportfraud@satrixnow.co.za or by submitting a ticket, then selecting 'Fraud' as your query topic.
What are the Signs Indicating Possible Fraudulent Activity on My Account?
Signs of potential fraud include unknown or unfamiliar transactions (excluding dividend reinvestment notifications), unfamiliar withdrawal notifications, unexpected password reset emails, receiving emails from SatrixNOW despite not having transacted recently, or unauthorised changes in banking or profile details.
Important: Always pay close attention to emails from Satrix as that is our main communication channel for everything that happens in your account.
How Can I Ensure I'm Dealing with Satrix and Avoid Potential Scams?
Be cautious of requests for your username or password, unsolicited investment solicitations, or instructions to invest from representatives. View and verify Satrix's bank account details from within your registered SatrixNOW account, and beware of promises of guaranteed rates of return, which are not typical in investments.
Please Note:
Satrix will never request your username or password from you.
Satrix does not have representatives or salespeople that reach out to solicit 'investments'. SatrixNOW has a help centre with agents that will assist investors with any queries they may have. They do not reach out to you to ask you to invest. They also do not make use of WhatsApp, Telegram or Facebook groups to solicit investments from you.
Satrix will not instruct you on what to invest in, nor make investments on your behalf. The SatrixNOW platform is designed for investors to DIY (do it yourself). Investors have full sight of the investments they make. As an investor, you will have sight of the entire process from start to finish.
We will show you our bank accounts once you've registered an account and have been verified. Log into your SatrixNOW account and select “deposits” from the menu button. You will see all our banking details under “Select one of our bank accounts”. If at any point someone provides you with banking details that don't appear on this list, that account doesn't belong to us, which is a red flag.
Satrix does not promise or guarantee you rates of return. Guarantees are not how investments work, as a principle. Past performance on an investment does not indicate future returns, although we may highlight performance as a guide. In any investment, there’s a measure of risk in that we cannot see into the future and say, for certain, how an investment will perform. Make sure to do your research on an investment before choosing it.
Very importantly, always ensure you are dealing with only Satrix social media accounts. Check the URL before interacting on any webpage. Here are our official accounts:
