Q: What are Linked Accounts on SatrixNOW?


A: You can choose to share access to your SatrixNOW account with another SatrixNOW account holder. This enables them to log onto their own account, navigate to their Associated Accounts section, and select to sign into your account.


There are 3 levels of access you can grant when you link your account:

    View only – they can view your holdings but cannot instruct any transactions 

    Full access – they can view and transact on your behalf with no requirement for your approval. (Be aware of the risks of allowing another person to act on your Account)

    View and execute transactions with your approval – they can submit a transaction instruction, you will be notified via email and will be required to log onto your SatrixNOW account and Approve or Decline the transaction instruction. 


Q: How do I link my account to someone else, so they can access my account?  


A: You will need to provide your SatrixNOW account number to the person you wish to give access to your account. They will need to log into their own SatrixNOW account and set up the link, as explained in the “How do I link my account to someone else, so I can access their account?” FAQ. 


You can find your account number by logging onto their SatrixNOW account and navigating to Account Overview, then toggling to the account you want to link via the top ribbon (Standard or TFSA). The account number will be visible at the top of the page, the format is SX12345-12345.  


Once the person who wants to link to your account has submitted the link request from their side, you will receive an email detailing their request. You will need to click through from the email to log onto your account.. After you have logged in, you would need to go to the Associated Accounts menu item which will appear under your Profile menu. You will see the linked request that was send to you under the Approval tab. You can either approve or reject the link request. You can enter a rejection reason which will be send via email to the person who requested to be linked to your profile.



Q: How do I link my account to someone else, so I can access their account?  


A: You will need to know the account number of the person to who’s account you want to link. They can find their account number by logging onto their SatrixNOW account and navigating to Account Overview, then toggling to the account they want to link via the top ribbon (Standard or TFSA). The account number will be visible at the top of the page, the format is SX12345-12345.  


Once you have the account number for the account you want to link to, log into your SatrixNOW account and navigate to the “My Profile” dropdown at the top right of your screen. Select “Associated Accounts” from the drop down, and then select the button to 

“+ Link Account”.


You will be prompted to enter the account number of the account you wish to link to, and then you must select the access level you wish to request: 


    View only – you can view their holdings but cannot instruct any transactions 

    Full access – you can view and transact on their behalf with no requirement for their approval. 

    View and execute transactions with their approval – you can submit a transaction instruction, they will be notified via email and will be required to log onto their SatrixNOW account and Approve or Decline the transaction instruction. 


Once you submit the request, the person who’s account you wish to link to will receive an email detailing your request. They can then log onto their SatrixNOW account and approve or reject the request. You will be notified via email once they have approved or rejected the request including a rejection reason. 

You can view all accounts that you have linked to, and those who have linked to your account, on your “Associated Accounts” page. 


Please note that the account linking is a “one way” permission. Having access to someone’s account doesn’t mean that that person can view your holdings or transact on your behalf. 


Q: How do I remove an account linked to mine? 

Log into your own account and navigate to “My Profile”, “Associated Accounts”. Under the Account Access tab you will see a list   of all the accounts which you have given access to your account profile. . You can choose to “Revoke Access” at any time by clicking on the revoke access button. 


Q: How do I view or transact on a linked account? 


Log into your own account and navigate to “My Profile”, “Associated Accounts”. You will see on the “Account Access” tab a list of all accounts you have linked to. Choose the account you wish to access and select the “Use this account” button. Depending on the permissions granted to you, you will be able to view and/or instruct transactions on behalf of this account holder. 


Q: How do I approve or decline transaction instructions made on my account? 


If you have granted “View and execute transactions with approval” access, you will be notified via email as soon as any transaction instructions have been submitted on your behalf. You will need to click through from the email to log into your SatrixNOW account and either Approve or Decline the transaction instruction. At any time you can log in and navigate to “My Profile”, “Associated Accounts”. You will see on the “Approvals” tab a list of all instructions that are waiting for your review.
